Karlsruhe, December 4th, 2012 – In terms of design, the innovative brinell storage devices are always one step ahead. The brand new brinell Stick single-action now has ingenious "made by brinell" mechanics: By pressing the button, the connector, which is recessed in the stick, automatically springs out of the casing. What a turn on!
The brinell Stick single-action eliminates the need for a cap. The connector is completely recessed in the casing so it is optimally protected against damage and dirt. To store data, it is uniquely activated by simply pressing the button.
German engineering in microformat „made by brinell“
The new brinell Stick single-action boasts sophisticated mechanics which have been specially developed by brinell and work within the compact dimensions of the device. Simply pressing a button on the side of the casing 1.2 mm activates the mechanism in which the connector automatically extends and clicks into place by means of an internal metal stop link. This type of activation provides maximal ergonomics for a stick which has a connector recessed in the casing.
"Our design consists of two precisely-coordinated casing components. With the connector recessed in the stick and the new single-action mechanics, we have harmonised the design by reducing the basic elements", explains Michael Föhrenbach, CEO of brinell GmbH.
Avant-garde design with an elegant finish
As with all brinell storage devices, the design is determined by classic simplicity, which lends the stick an avant-garde style. The casing is made of a coarse-brushed stainless steel. For individual style, the case is available in four varieties of continuously high-quality materials: brushed stainless steel, hand-picked Macassar wood veneer, real nappa leather or innovative carbon.
Maximal data transfer rates with USB 3.0
The innovative mechanics of the brinell Stick single-action is paired with modern memory chips and the latest USB 3.0 interface technology, with a data transfer rate of up to 80 MB/s.
More security with a special edition of BoxCryptor
In addition to aesthetics, technology and functionality, brinell storage devices also provide the utmost security. Using a brinell special edition of the innovative encryption solution from BoxCryptor, the data on brinell storage devices is encrypted so no unauthorised access is possible. This version of encryption allows data to be accessed without installing software on a laptop or PC.
Availability, price and warranty
Different versions of the brinell Stick single-action are available, with storage capacity of up to 64 GB and unit prices from 99 euros, in brinell's online store at www.brinell.net. The warranty period for a brinell Stick single-action is two years.

brinell Stick and brinell Drive – two new and exclusive product lines from brinell
Karlsruhe, 14 October 2011 – After the success of the compact portable hard disks, brinell is expanding its sophisticated product range by two new product lines. The hard disk series now includes the brinell Drive with a storage capacity of one terabyte and the matching brinell Stick with up to 32 GB memory. With both products, brinell is staying true to its tried and tested concept. The classic understated design of the hard disks has been retained and also applied to the smaller storage medium. The materials used for the casing are still highly unusual, such as hand-picked Makassar ebony, nappa leather and pure stainless steel. Thus, everyday objects become genuine lifestyle products with a touch of exclusivity, while the great product choice offers something to suit every individual style.
Around two years ago, brinell started offering the demanding and style-conscious user a suitable alternative to the conventional storage media available in the electronics trade. To this end, the company developed portable hard disks in stylish, avant-garde designs, employing unusual materials. So far these hard disks in the so-called credit card or pocket format used to be available with up to 500 MB storage space – however, with its new line brinell has responded to recent technical advances and now offers devices with an impressive 1000 GB of storage capacity as well as a USB 3.0 interface for the fastest possible data transmission rates.
This successful concept is now being extended with the new product line brinell Stick. “USB sticks for storing and transporting data are omnipresent these days. We have extended the brinell design to this product area now: our USB sticks convey individual style and give the data the appreciation they deserve,” explains Michael Föhrenbach, CEO of brinell GmbH. “To complement the latest technology, we use exclusive and elegant materials that you don’t generally see in the design of IT devices, such as natural wood and leather as well as elaborately finished materials such as stainless steel or carbon. Top-quality material and craftsmanship
The design is timeless, sleek and modern and comprises two perfectly matched casing components. The frame of each USB stick consists of solid, matted stainless steel. The inlay is available in four different high-quality materials: brushed stainless steel, hand-picked Makassar wood veneer, real nappa leather or an innovative carbon surface. Brinell has developed special methods and processes for the manufacture of the individual material components, facilitating meticulous and accurate work, even at small scales.
State-of-the-art technology
All brinell storage media are equipped with USB 3.0, the interface of the future, allowing data transmission in SuperSpeed mode. The brinell Sticks currently offer data transmission rates of up to 70 MB/s, the hard disks as much as 110 MB/s. However, thanks to their backwards compatibility, the devices can also be operated with existing 2.0 hosts without any problem. The USB interface also regulates the supply of power, which means that brinell Drive does not require a separate power pack. The 12 mm thick brinell Drive is available with 500 or 1000 GB storage space; alternatively, there is a 9 mm SLIM version with a capacity of 320 GB. The brinell Sticks are available with 8, 16 and 32 GB memory.
Sophisticated sales concept
The exclusive nature of brinell is reflected in the selection of target-group-appropriate distribution partners. Brinell products are, for instance, retailed at the Lufthansa WorldShop and in conjunction with the associated Miles & More award scheme. They are also offered at other airlines such as Etihad Airways, SAS Scandinavian Airlines and airBaltic. The famous Berlin department store Kaufhaus des Westens (KaDeWe) displayed a hard disk model with Makassar wood veneer in a frame with 14 karat gold plating as a special showpiece.
